I also needed to download the punkbuster tool to fix the. The installation comment above wasnt the only thing I needed to do as the game still didnt recognize punkbuster. There should be one file called pbsvcbc2.exe. The wc002272.dll file is the important one I imagine. Navigate to: Battlefield Bad Company 2 > install > Punkbuster. The x.htm file is zero length and was already there but I replaced it anyway. The files in the zip are in directories so it is pretty easy to know where they go.
